This says a lot about the state of the relationship between Edinburgh City Centre and the divergent needs of the business community making money from the Festival Fringe.
A beautiful city centre park which will now take months to recover from a few weeks of commercial gain.
Although the City of Edinburgh Council has leased the land at St. Andrew’s Square, since 2007 (For 50 years) it is currently run by Essential Edinburgh one of the Councils Business Improvement Districts.
I Wonder how much this all pulls in for the City coffers. Can anyone really say this is an improvement to the City?
It’s not likely the money spent here over the summer will stay in the city anyhow.
